Update!

by admin on Oct.31, 2009, under Uncategorized

Hello!

Sorry it’s been so long - Jim changed the password for this blog and I’ve only just found out what it is.

So quick update, well I’ve been doing the rounds promoting the book which I’ve really enjoyed. Had a great time back at 6 Music on Shaun Keavney’s show - it was like going home. BBc London breakfast show was also very enjoyable. To be honest I had expected Paul Ross to be a bit of a tosspot but he couldn’t have been more lovely. Both him and Joanne Good were delightful. I hope to be going back there again sometime soon. Another highlight was doing an ISDN interview for BBC Humberside. Presenter Lara King is hilarious and definitely worth a listen. The person in the London studio where the interview was taking place was running late which was making me cross. When she finally came out of the studio, I was about to give her my best ‘you’ve pissed me right off you cow’ look, when I suddenly realised that the woman was actually Barbara Dickson. I’m ashamed to say that I got quite excited. My  dad was a big fan of hers in the 80’s and I recall her providing the soundtrack to many a long journey down to Cornwall on family hoildays.

Actually all this radio stuff has really made me miss doing my own show. Perhaps I should start thinking about doing it again.

Have you got the book yet?  What do you think?

Love you.

Night out

by admin on Oct.04, 2009, under Uncategorized

So just 4 more days and my book is out. Please buy it. It’s quite funny really

www.amazon.co.uk/Parental-Advisory-Manual-Natasha-Desborough/dp/0593064186

Last week i went out for a celebratory dinner with my editor, press officer and agent. It was fantastic. A proper, posh, French restaurant in Greek Street, London.  I got drunker than I have in about 5 years! Such good fun and wonderful food. The wine list was the size of an encyclopedia and there was a bottle of wine on the menu that cost over 10k!!!! We didn’t order it. What kind of arse would spend that kind of money on booze? If I spent 10k on booze, I would bottle my wee wee afterwards. It would be the most expensive wee wee in the world.

I’m plugging the book on Heart FM brekkie show in Kent next week (used to be Invicta FM) which will be weird as its the place that I cut my teeth in radio presenting. And double weird - as one of my old friends Gemma Shepherd is now the brekkie co-presenter alongside James Hemming. Gemma and I used to hang out as teenagers when we spent a lot of time in dodgy pubs in Croydon. Can’t wait to see her again.

I’m also doing interviews with about 15 BBC regional stations on Friday morning, the BBC 6 Music brekkie show on Monday 12th October, BBC London Breakfast at some point and Richard Bacon’s show on Five Live.

So its all go, go, go.

Wish me luck!

xx

It’s out on ocober 8th and I’m currently working on the publicity campaign. I’m very, very excited as lovely Shaun Keaveny has agreed to have me in as a guest on his BBC 6 Music Breakfast show on monday 12th october. It’ll be so good to a) see Shaun again and b) be back a 6, a station that I love so much.

I’ll be popping up on other stations too and in some magazines. It’s all go go go!

Love you.

Cover

by admin on Aug.12, 2009, under Uncategorized

Hello boys and girls,

Sorry to have been quiet of late. Been busy with book stuff. We’ve been faffing around with the book cover. A very cross person drew our attention to the fact that my book cover was very similar to that of the bestselling book ‘Confessions of A Bad mother’

Mine

Mine

not mine

not mine

Yes - quite similar you see. So we’ve changed it to this:

New and shiny!

New and shiny!

I’m actually really pleased with it - it’s certainly eyecatching! Plus the very lovely Zoe Ball has given me a fabulous quote to put on the cover. All in all I’m very pleased indeed. So what do you think of the new cover?

I’m also excited as when the book comes out, I’ll be plugging it on some of the radio stations that i have worked on over the years. Shaun keavney has invited me on his show on 6 and I could well be heading to Xfm too amongst others. Can’t blinking wait!

HOT

by admin on Jul.02, 2009, under Uncategorized

Ok lets face it - your band name suggestions were quite frankly shit. So I’ve come up with a name myself. But I’m not going to tell you what it is yet. The song is almost complete. Sadly it sounds nothing like Bananarama or AC/DC. Jim wanted to create something that sounded like Deadmau5 ‘I remember’ so that’s what he’s done. And I’m kind of wailing away on it. I’m not sure if its wonderful or utter tosh. Probably the latter.

Meanwhile just spent a night at Woolley Grange a fabulous family friendly hotel in Wiltshire www.woolleygrangehotel.co.uk

If you’ve got young kids and you really want to treat yourself then I can’t recommend it enough. My boys had a great time and so did Jim and I. We’ll definitely be returning soon.

But oh this heat is so horrible. I have weird neighbours who oil themselves up and go and lie in the sun all day long. They even had 2 electric fans set up next to their sunbeds blowing on them yesterday. Are they mental? They couldn’t get any browner if they tried. They have skin like old brown leather sofas. Revolting.

Right - gotta go pick up the kids now.

Love you.

Pop band

by admin on Jun.13, 2009, under Uncategorized

Hello my luvveries,

How are you? All good with me - finished the book - now we’re working hard on the PR strategy.

Meanwhile, Jim and I have decided to write and record a song. For no reason other than wanting to do something for a laugh in the evenings rather than just watch eastenders and then fall asleep on the sofa. Jim is digging out all the old music he made in his bedroom as a spotty miserable teenager for inspiration and then we’ll knock something up and I will sing. I want it to be like a cross between Bananarama and AC/DC but Jim has something more pretentious in mind. What a big poncey ponce. Anyway, if it’s not too cringeworthy then I’ll post it up for you to take the piss out of.

But we need a band name. Any suggestions? Remember it’ll be me, Jim and a midi keyboard.

Hello stranger!

by admin on Apr.19, 2009, under Uncategorized

Hey! I’m back!

Twittering is too difficult when you are as boring as me.

So here’s whats been going on if you are interested: Book is now at the final draft stage. It’s with the copy editor at the moment. Poor woman - she’s got her work cut out as my grammar and spelling is dreadful.

I’ve also been talking to agents to help me make the most of the book when it goes on sale and I think I’ve found one who actually likes me and who I like too. Next stop is the PR strategy and I have a plan. Its good.

Meanwhile, just saw this story on ananova:

“Breast milk cheese served at art show

Cheese made with breast milk has been served at the launch of a new art exhibition in London.

Mexican artist Raul Ortega Ayala named the show “Alejandra Ortiz-Reynoso”, after the woman who donated the milk, the Daily Express reported.

A spokeswoman said: “He makes the cheese in the normal way - it’s just a standard process.

The cheese was served simply, with a more traditional accompaniment of crackers.”

REBLOODYVOLTING! A tiny bit of sick has just popped into my throat just at the thought. But if you think that’s bad - I’ve got a whole disgusting section about breastmilk in my book. Here’s a sneaky and yucky excerpt:

A real mummy says: “I came up with a rather ingenious way to use up the copious amounts of expressed breast milk that I was producing for my 4 month old baby. I made breast milk ice lollies, which my 3 year old son would happily eat in the summer time. Did I ever give one to any of my son’s friends? Yes! A few times. They all loved them. (Yucky, yucky, dirty lady)

Thats all for now. I’m off to bath the kids.

p.s - I have once again deleted a load of comments when getting rid of spam. I’m sorry. I am shit. But I love you. Darling.
