Hello!
Are you still there? Do you miss me?
Sorry I’ve been so quiet of late - should have some news for you in the next few days…..can’t say any more just yet.
Do you fancy a little game of substitute? Ok lets substitute ‘cry’ for ’squirt’.
I’ll start it off with Elvis Presley’s ‘Squirting In The Chapel’. I thank you. Now over to you.

Can’t Cook

Hello!
I’m really pleased to read the lovely comments about my podcast - if you haven’t yet had a listen you can do so right here:
The Duchess Of Croydon Podcast 02
And another thing - the hugely successful Channel 4 show ‘Come Dine With Me’ is returning for a new prime-time series. They will be visiting Croydon very soon and have asked me to ask you if you might be interested in taking part. If so then contact Richard.Dyson@itv.com
I would have taken part myself but I am such a terrible cook. Look what happened when I attempted to bake a cake for Wilfie’s first birthday last month:
Is it a cake or a frisbee?

How do?
Here we go then – Podcast number 2. Once again I think Jim steals the show with his contribution but other than that - the podcast features ranting, Mortasha, more radio porn, inappropriate song lyrics and nudity. Yes podcast nudity. Is it a first? I don’t know, but I do know that it was a bit chilly. Once again – this one is too rude for the kids.

Fab music

Now then, now then, guys and gals.
I recorded the podcast last night so hopefully Jim will put it up on the site tonight - we are also going to put it up on itunes.
Mortasha pops up on the podcast, I do something very rude that shocks Jim and I’ve dug out some more radio porn from my Chill Out Room on Xfm. I actually found a show that was just ridiculous - I think you’ll enjoy it because its unintentionally very funny. But whilst trawling through my box of old Xfm shows, I realised what an amazing selection of music I was able to play. My late night show only had a tiny amount of scheduled playlist tracks. The rest was genuinely chosen by the listeners or myself. So whilst the radio porn bit was quite dreadful - the music was amazing and quite often very surprising. Check out this tracklisting from a show that I’m guessing was from late 1999.
Jeff Buckley - Lover You Should’ve Come Over
Radiohead ‘Street Spirit’
William Orbit ‘Adiago For Strings’
High Llamas - ‘Cookie Bay’
Flaming Lips ‘Waiting For Superman’
The Aloof ‘One Night Stand’
Porcupine Tree ‘Stranger By The Minute’
The Animalhouse ‘Essence’
Mercury Rev ‘Opus 40′
Charlatans ‘Forever’
Lamb ‘Softly’
Cocteau Twins ‘Lorelei’
R.E.M ‘Nightswimming’
Doves ‘Break Me Gently’
Gonzalez ‘Lets Groove Again’
Galliano - ‘Slack Hands’
Laika ‘Black Cat Bone’
Pulp ‘This Is Hardcore’
Blackalicious ‘M.I.A’
Massive Attack ‘Teardrop’
Japan ‘Ghosts’
Jah Wobble feat. Sinead O’Conner ‘Visions Of You’
Ban and Jason ‘Air Guitar’
The Handsome Boy Modeling School ‘The Truth’
Soulwax ‘Flying Without Wings’
Primal Scream ‘Higher Than The Sun’
WOW! Bloody brilliant. Makes me realise that I was very very lucky to present a show where I could genuinely play a fabulous selection of music. I’m guessing that ‘The Handsome Boy Modeling School’ was my choice as I played their album ‘So..How’s Your Girl’ constantly when it was released. Laika? Whatever happened to them? That Porcupine Tree track was also a big favourite of mine at the time and Pulp’s This Is Hardcore is a track that is never played on the radio. Great memories.

How do?
I’ve had a busy old week writing. My eyes have gone funny from looking at the computer screen too much. Piggy eyes.
Also I have eaten far too much chocolate this week. I think I have developed a chocolate addiction and I am genuinely worried that I will have trouble giving it up. I can’t get through a whole day without eating some. Yesterday I bought a packet of malted milk biscuits to replace the chocolate. I was doing ok until I came a cross a packet of chocolate buttons in the cupboard. Obviously they were Oscar’s but I had no self control whatsoever and shoved them down my throat faster than you can say ‘fat arse’.
Also do cups of tea count towards the litre of water that you are meant to drink every day? I’ve been drinking loads of tea over the past few weeks. Earl grey tea of course - not builders tea or poncey darjeeling. Proper tea.
Musicwise I’ve been listening mainly to the Ladyhawke album which I love and Late of The Pier who are also fabulous. And I have been really enjoying Last.fm - what a brilliant concept. Your own radio station. Love it love it.
I’ve almost finished writing the next podcast - will record later in the week and then Jim will work his magic and stick it up on the site.
I have nothing else to report except that I saw the Eastenders actress who plays Dot Cotton in Tescos yesterday. She was looking at tinned tomatoes.
Run along now.
